Long time no see my dear followers!
I finally have more time for my stitching and will update this blog more often!
My absent year from this blog has been full of projects with our apartement that we bought and I have been making birth-samplers at a rapid speed!!
This is two of my completed projects for a dear friend of mine! Since I wanted to separate them and personalize the motifs I changed a few colours!
My current projects however are a few more! I have five completed projects that I´m going to frame soon (pictures will come up when they are done) and the not completed birth-samplers are these down below :D!! I have had my hands full as you can see..
I also want to show you some of my mothers masterpieces! This miniature embroiderys is sewn on 48ct silk gauze with japanese silk threads:
She is an amazing artisan as you can see! And she is teaching me everything she knows so I get to challenge myself with more advanced stitching all the time. I will show you more of this soon! Some of my current projects are gifts so I can´t publish them here yet! But they will show up! See you soon again with a new update! Take care!

Hello my friends!
I hope you are ok and that the weather is nice where you live! We are almost settled at our new home and we had our bathroom renovated! Now it´s so nice in there that you almost want to stay there all the time :D!! I don´t have any pictures yet to publish, but I will fix this in a few days so you can see the difference!
Unfortunately I haven´t been able to fix my "cross-stitching corner" yet either, but soon you will get a new blog entry to look at with my new projects!
I have made a few birth-samplers for friends and also took a few requests!
My sister got one a few years back when she had her first son and now I have made another one for her other son. It´s not complete yet though. Here you can see another birth-sampler I made for a friend. It is a Bobby G Desings pattern and I really love this!!
Take care for now and enjoy the summer :D! Will see you soon again!

Hello my friends!
I have been busy here! Me and my boyfriend just bought our own apartment! Right now we are waiting to get our keys so we can start making the place just like we want it to!
I have also completed a few projects since my last blog entry! Past and Present is almost finished! Just a few french knots and hardanger left! I have to learn the hardanger from my mom first though and I will post pictures of it soon!
Right now I have started with Jane Greenoffs new "Baird band sampler"! I can´t find any picture of it yet, but I will take some photos soon and post here :D!
I have som other projects coming ahead to!
First off is Heirloom Stitching Sampler by The Victoria Sampler. It´s so beautiful!!
And the second project to come is Christmas Gazebo also by The Victoria Sampler
And last but not least I´m going to make two Chatelaine projects!
Thist first one is called "Japanese Garden Mandala"
And the this one is called "Chinese Garden Mandala"
I have borrowed these pictures from Google, if anyone owns the rights to them just tell me =)
There are some Permin Samplers I´m going to make to later on! I don´t know how to find time to do all of these projects, but I´m stitching as much as I possibly can :D!
See you soon and take care!

Hello! Sorry for my late update! I have been a bit busy here =)!
I have been stitching on my Past and Present sampler and will post pictures in my next blog update! For now I wanted to show you another completed sampler that I made recently! It´s "Elisabeth Easton" - From The Good Huswife - Original and historical samplers. It was really fun doing this one and I made a few changes to it to make it more personal to me! I just love all the colors and I´m looking forward to hang it on my wall!! Actually I have to say that samplers are growing on me! I´m really more of a motif stitcher, but my mother put me up for a test every now and then with samplers like this one :D!
Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope to see you again :D! Have a great day!

Hello all stitchers out there!
Right now I´m making a few cross-stitch cards to sell on Ebay soon so my Past and Present sampler gets to rest a bit! I have stitched the black stitch row and will post a picture on it soon! For now I would like to show you something special I made for my mother. She loves this painting by Gustaf Klimt "The Kiss" that he painted between 1908-1909. The only thing she knew about my present was that I had to borrow yellow DMC-skeins from her :D! She could not figure this one out and thought that I was sticthing something with sunflowers! I found this pattern in a cross-stitch book that I have with Art Nouveau by Barbara Hammet! I did not know that I had this pattern and was so exited about this! She got it by her birthday and the expression on her face was unforgettable!
It was really fun to stitch this and I hope you all enjoy the beauty of this artists work as we do :D!
See you all soon!

Past & Present sampler
Hello my fellow stitchers!
Right now I´m working on "Past and Present" by Karen Kluba! It´s an amazing design and here you can see my progress! I´m stitching on a 34ct Legacy Linen and it is a really enjoyable fabric. Unfortunately the picture is not that good, but I will take more pictures and post here soon =D!
Thank you for watching! My hope for this blog is to eventually inspire more people to start stitching!! It´s really fun and very relaxing! Take care and happy stitching!

A LITTLE TASTE OF JAPAN!
Welcome to my new blog "Maria´s Needlework & Samplers"!
Here I will upload pictures and talk about my stitching progress and sometimes about other stuff!
In a few years I have gone from stitching complete cross-stitch kit´s on aida to more difficult sampler´s on small count linen. I try to personalize my works by changing colors and add new content to them. The resent sampler I made I used the Swedish alphabet including the letters Å Ä Ö (pictures will come later)
This geisha I made in 2013 and it´s an original Jill Oxton design. I really love stitching geisha´s for some reason =).
Thank you for visiting my blog! Happy stitching =)!
